“When I’m not working I . . .

Think about what I would do if I actually won the lottery and had more time to spend on the things that captivate me. My dogs. Food. Wine. Bourbon. Films. Literature. Whales. Cape Cod. Travel. Wild horses. And horse racing; I love the ponies. Forget football—I can’t even begin to describe what a ‘down’ is, but what a three-year-old horse’s fractions should look like if he is going to make the starting gate at Churchill Downs on the first Saturday in May? Let’s talk.”

Kim applies her people skills and diverse interior design background on a daily basis to her responsibilities as leader of Gola’s project management and planning team. Prior to joining the firm in 2004, Kim was employed by USI as a project manager serving onsite at GMAC Mortgage as team lead for national retail lending. In addition to an ongoing project load of 35 branches, she was responsible for training and managing staff, workflow and backlog maintenance, invoicing, staffing, and new process development. Before that she spent five years at Charles Matsinger Associates, where she was involved in all aspects of the programming, planning, design and administration of architectural interiors.

At Gola, Kim’s focus is to make the project implementation process as painless as possible for clients. “Once the lease is signed, my team is there for the long haul. It’s all about the client and their project requirements. We make the design and construction details work within budget while navigating the details of furniture, technology implementation, artwork, signage, and relocation. Once a client has taken occupancy, we are still available for ‘day two’ services: maintenance, planning, reconfiguring, budgeting, departmental chargebacks, you name it.” Aside from project management, Kim’s favorite task is space planning. Describing herself as a good listener, she easily relates to client needs and loves the problem-solving aspect of applying those needs to a specific space.

A native of the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton region, Kim now resides in Harleysville. She is a LEED Accredited Professional and embraces sustainable design and construction practices set forth in building codes, the U.S. Green Building Council, Green Globes and beyond.

The most rewarding aspect of project management is the opportunity to exceed expectations and make people happy. The thrill is always there, whether it’s for a first-time or a repeat client. And when I hear from someone who has moved on to a company with other real estate connections and they call or email to say ‘I miss working with you,’ it is incredibly fulfilling and truly validates every effort.
